LPP Youth Assistant 

 

Position:            Youth Assistant.

Hours per week:  One to Three hours (depending on day).

Rate:                    Competitive.

Times:                  4.00 - 6:30 pm (Monday), 5:30 - 6:30 pm (Wednesday),4.00 - 6:30 pm (Thursday), 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (Saturday)

Days of week:      Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday

Starting:              Immediately. 

 

 

Description:

London Parkour Project is looking for a a team of keen individuals who will be able to assist at one of our Sydenham parkour classes. 

 

The candidate will be expected to assist coaches on site by helping to set up and pack away equipment, check equipment for damage and ensure safety before class, ensure a safe environment for students participating in the class, providing information for parents with regards to the classes, working reception (letting parents and participants in and out of the building), may include some assisting in lessons. 

 

The candidate will be happy to deal with children from ages 4 - 17 and parents in a professional manner. 

Recruitment process

  1. Candidates apply via email

  2. Short listed candidates will be given a 2 hour interview comprising of an unperson assessment on one of the allocated days, followed by a 6 week trial. 

  3. Successful candidates will be given a position

  4. Successful candidates will be asked to join the team on a trial basis of 3 months. During which time, candidates will be given training and regularly assessed. 

 

About the candidate:

  • Has experience working with primary school children within a high-end client setting (preferred). 

  • Enjoys working with young children.

  • Able to control a class while maintaining a supportive and fun environment. 

  • Understands London Parkour Project company values

  • Familiar with London Parkour Projects Grading System

 

Required skills:​​

  • Experience communicating with a wide range of individuals.

  • Conflict resolution 

 

Desirable skills but not essential:

  • Recent DBS check completed (not older than 3 years)

  • Safeguarding and protecting children certified

  • Public liability insured (if level 1 coach)

  • Holds an up to date First Aid certificate (not older than 3 years)

  • Achieved Rank 3 within London Parkour Projects training system

  • Has experience training both indoors and outdoors
