CULTURE GOES BOTH WAYS

So in our classes we do have a specific culture. To me it is not unusual, but I find that it is for some.
I do hold students to a high standard, they do have to wear uniforms, bands and put in 100% when doing conditioning. If they talk negatively about themselves, like “It’s impossible” or “I can’t do it” I will pull them up on it. If we said we would do 100 squats then that Is what we are going to do…
The aim is to build positive habits and a culture in the classes that elevates all to a higher level.
But you know, it is not only for the students. If I forget my band, or uniform the students will also pull me up on it, and I welcome it…
Some students will say “where is your band”… or “where is your t-shirt”. They may even say, it’s ok, but if you forget two more times I will tell your parents, and a smile will come across my face, because this is something I have said to many of them.
If I say, well today we only need to do 30 squats, they will turn to me and say, NO WE WILL DO 100.
😨
Well in that case,
😳
I better do 100.
I love it, it means that we have built a culture of striving for greatness, and accountability.
